The Wonder Twins have turned four weeks as of last Thursday.
Caity is now over six pounds and her super power is "Spastic Hands": she gets them going at speeds so fast that she looks like a hummingbird. Last Monday, or was it Tuesday? Wait! It was this morning! she hooked her pacifier and whipped it out of her mouth at such a velocity that it whistled across the room. Luckily Frankie was there, or we'd be on the phone to Best Buy scheduling an emergency television screen-replacement. When the cat came to, he ran outside, and now he refuses to come back inside the house. I am looking at him right now, sitting on the deck railing. I swear that it almost looks like he is slowly shaking his head.
Bella is pushing eight pounds and has that Sinead O'Connor thing going - being strikingly beautiful despite a baldy-sour hair style. Super Power: "Shotgun Dupa" - Karen was the unfortunate victim to a test firing of this dangerous weapon. Of course, she was dressed to go to a Father's Day barbecue, so that was double points for Isabel.
So, the middle of the night feedings are killing us.
Both Karen and I have tried, on at least one occasion each, to jam the nipple of the bottle into the eye of the particular daughter under our jurisdiction at the 2:00AM feeding. In discussions with other parents of twins, we found out that this is a common hazard faced by many newborns in the same circumstances. Maybe we should start a foundation, get some bleeding heart Napervillains to donate some cash, get 'em a t-shirt, parade 'em around a park or high school track... Make 'em feel good about themselves, huh?
